CLUB HISTORY
A Special General Meeting was held on 10th November, 1910 when it was agreed that the club would move from Linden Road to The Paddocks, Chapel Hill.  This was leased to the club by Major G.W. Willock for a term of 12 years at a cost of £15 per annum.

After considerable work the new green and club house was opened on Wednesday 7th June 1911 by J. W. Arrowsmith, President of the West of England Bowls League and our President Sir Edmund H. Elton.

The photograph above shows the original building which housed the changing rooms. This was demolished when the wall behind it became unsafe and has since been replaced. The present club house, which was opened in 1973 by Lady Margaret Elton, is on ground to the right of this picture. There is an indoor, two rink green, allowing members to play in the winter months.
The Club progressed and was affiliated to the English Bowling Association in 1912 and to the Somerset Bowling Association on its formation in 1915.

Until 2000 Clevedon Bowling Club only admitted male members but  at the AGM in this year the club became mixed and ladies were admitted for the first time.

As a Club we have won many honours including winning the Turnbull Cup, Somerset County Trophy, on thirteen occasions.  We are also honoured to have David Bryant, CBE, as one of our members. He is the holder of 20 World & Commonwealth titles and represented England at outdoor & indoor bowls throughout the world over 35 years.
